Analysis of film cover - AVATAR

AVATAR
The main colour to the poster is blue, this along with the facial expresion of the character gives a tranquil feel. This is because the poster isn't to busy and everything feels calm, there arent any pictures of explosions or blood, just a silent face.

The part of the poster which pops out is the yellow eye, we are drawn to look at it and once we do it feels like the character is looking at us. The expression of the eye feels a bit like anger because the eye is partly closed but i feel it shows the character is focused. Which gives the viewer quesitons, e.g What are they focused on?

The most apparent thing here is that the character in poster isnt human. This makes me think, What is it? Where are they from? Why are they blue? What do they do?

The only other things on the poster are the films name, in large capital letters at the bottom of the poster in white writing so it stands out from the dark background. And the othe part is a sentence at the top which reads "FROM THE DIRECTOR OF TITANIC", there are no names of actors just this, which i feel is enough as placing this film with on of the ost popular films in the world is a very big and attractive thing.

Overall this is a good film poster, very eye catching and promotes the film and what its about very well.
